Today's offering showcases this handsome and classic Audemars Piguet mens dress watch in gorgeous condition. It is full size for the style, measuring just over 34mm in diameter. Our photos couldn't begin to do it justice.
Featuring an elegant 18K white gold "TV" case with full diamond bezel and a royal blue dial (face) that has just the tiniest hint of purple to soften its tone and thin white gold batons makers, it possesses timeless class. Watches like this continue to seduce for their elegance and discretion.
The diamonds on the bezel have been aftermarket set by a jeweler. They are eye clean and white.
Its equipped with an extremely fine, original Audemars Piguet caliber 2001 movement which showcases top-tier Swiss watchmaking.
Like only the very finest watches in the world - select watches from the likes of Patek, AP, and V & C, it is adjusted to five positions, heat, cold, and even isochronism. And like some Pateks from the era and today it has a free-sprung balance with gold Microstella screws on the balance for regulating it - it is extremely high-grade.
Its 34mm diameter without the crown is pleasingly larger than many similar AP's dress watches from this era.
It has all of its original parts except for the added diamonds and the crown which was previously changed to accommodate the diamond bezel. It has just finished a true expertly done restoration. It presents in gorgeous condition.
Its case presents as mint with only light signs of previous polishing. Its dial has been meticulously restored - its printing could pass as Audemars Piguet factory done to the naked eye.
As part of the restoration, a Master Watchmaker has fully serviced the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, replacing any overly worn components, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive timing testing and regulation (a $695 value).
It is running very strong and true, keeping time on par with a new AP in our testing position.
For the finishing touch it comes equipped with a brand new leather strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
A half-century old AP that presents like new.
