1978 Omega Seamaster Mens Watch, Automatic, Quick-Set Day & Date - Stainless Steel

Omega

Item No. 5528

The vintage Omega watch featured in today's offering is a prime restored example of one of the company's day date Seamaster watches. As a Seamaster, it's a watch that has both elegant sport capabilities.

Here are some of its features:

  • Pioneering so-called "double quick-set" day and date features - This is an early double quick-setting day date Omega watch. Omega created the 1020 and 1022 series movement with a double quick-set capability for convenient setting of the day and date. Though many connoisseurs associate the idea of the double quick-set watch with Rolex, which first offered the President model with this "new" feature in late 1990, Omega's 1020 series mechanisms were a pioneer of the technology in large scale production watches.
  • Caliber 1022 movement. Fast beat (28,800 bph) balance system for greater accuracy.
  • Seamaster model for the U.S. market. Quite of few examples of this model, which was created by the Norman Morris Agency is New York, that were in solid gold were branded and sold through Tiffany & Co.
  • Fully Omega and in presents in true expertly restored condition. It is fully Omega down to its dial, hands, signed winding crown, and even original Omega crystal and waterproofing seal!

The dial has been expertly refinished. Its printing could pass as Omega factory done to the naked eye. Our watchmaker has just cleaned and oiled the movement and installed a brand new Omega crystal. It is running strong and true. Photos of the inside available upon request.

It now looks almost like a new watch on the wrist. For the finishing touch we have equipped it with a new strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to its performance.
