1979 Rolex Oyster perpetual Date (Datejust) Mens Watch, Champagne Dial - 14K Gold

Rolex

Item No. 9946

Today's offering showcases this handsome and all-original Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date model encased in 14K gold. The Date model is essentially a Datejust with a slightly smaller diameter (34mm instead of 36mm).

As precise as it is classic, the watch is powered by a Rolex cal. 1570 mechanism that powered many early models of the Submariner, Explorer, and GMT models. A superior mechanism, it offers a level of engineering and craftsmanship that is exceptional. This original vintage classic is worthy of a home in a fine collection or under the cuff of a deserving gentleman.

Here are a few of its features:

14K gold Rolex Oyster case

Self-winding movement, officially certified by the Swiss watch governing body

Rolex Twinlock screw down crown for water resistance

Acrylic crystal with magnifying 'cyclops' window for easy reading of the date

Beautiful original champagne dial in mint condition.

Elegant fluted gold bezel

It is all-original. Its case is in beautiful condition. The undersides of the lugs have slight remnants of wear from a bracelet previously being installed and the back has one very light and small indention - otherwise, it presents as mint with only light signs of previous polishing. On the wrist, it presents as mint.

Its untouched original champagne dial is mint. The luminous has pleasingly toned and matches well the original luminous in the hands.

One of our Master Watchmakers, who used to be the watchmaker for an authorized Rolex dealer and was given special training by Rolex at their Beverly Hills Service Center to be an authorized Rolex watchmaker, has fully serviced the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, replacing any overly worn components with genuine Rolex parts, installing a new mainspring, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive timing testing and regulation (an $895 value).

It is running very strong and true, keeping time essentially on par with a new Rolex in our testing recording position.

For the finishing touch, we have equipped it with a brand new aftermarket crocodile strap and aftermarket Rolex style buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to its performance.

Your watch is important to us, and we will take care of it for its lifetime.
