Corum Vintage Mens Ultra Thin Watch with Very Fine Frederic Piguet Based Movement - 18K Gold

Corum

Item No. 6326

Today's offering showcases this exclusive, extremely fine and classic mens Corum dress watch. With its champagne dial, timeless round case, and signature Corum cabochon topped crown, it is one of Corum's more understated watches and possesses a classic and elegant luxury presentation.

This very fine and rare version features an ultra thin handwound movement, a much higher grade mechanism that what's found in most other similar vintage Corums and similar watches.

It is the same movement at times labeled as a Cartier caliber 21. We first encountered the caliber 21 in a higher-end then usual Cartier Tank - it would be similar to the more recent Collection Privee or Cartier Fine Watchmaking specialized elite level watches with higher grade movements than their traditional line.

It has six adjustments and was made by specialist firm Frederic Piguet. It is an ultra-thin movement measuring only approximately 1.73mm thick, at the time close to the record for the thinnest normal movement and in the same ballpark as the famous ultra-thins like the AP / V & C 1000/2000 movements, and even thinner than the Piaget 9p. This complete watch measures a mere 5mm thick.

We really like it - it is very elegant and extremely well-executed. It's design is very suggestive of the 60's Audemars Piguet ultra thins. It is fully Corum down to the original dial, hands, and crown.

Our watchmaker has freshly cleaned and oiled the movement. For the finishing touch we have equipped it with a brand new crocodile strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
