While busy developing their Oyster case, Rolex also crafted lady's pieces to meet the needs of their wealthy female clients. The fine wristwatch featured in this offering is an example of one of these very early Lady Rolex timepieces.
It has a classic silver dial with a pleasing guilloche decorated lower inner tier. Born before the days of constant brand focused marketing, these very early pieces are often not outwardly signed Rolex - they are only signed on the case and movement.
As one of the world's first wristwatches, the wonderful transitional watches showcase their pocket watch heritage with their wide bezel, spade hands, and dial with sunken center.
Powering this gem is a fine, early Rolex "Rebberg" timekeeping mechanism housed in its original 9K gold Rolex case.
Its solid gold case, lightly tinted rose in color and slightly larger than the cases of most similar ladies Rolex watches from the era, is in excellent condition and its Rolex movement is very clean. Its dial was restored in vintage times, and it comes on the 12k gold filled vintage or original bracelet that was on the watch when we acquired it.
One of our watchmakers has disassembled it down to its last screw and cleaned and oiled it making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
These watches are known for not operating well because of their age, but this one is now an exception to that.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to its performance.
