1920's Rolex Ladies Vintage Art Deco Watch - 9K Rose Gold

Rolex

Item No. 8310

While busy developing their Oyster case, Rolex also crafted lady's pieces to meet the needs of their wealthy female clients. The fine wristwatch featured in this offering is an example of one of these very early Lady Rolex timepieces. Rolex was one of the pioneers of the wrist-worn watch.

The centerpiece of the watch is its egg-shell face with gold Breguet numerals. Its original "cathedral" style gold steel hands complement it well.

As one of the world's first wristwatches, this wonderful transitional watch showcases pocket watch heritage with its hinged "onion" style crown.

Powering this early Art Deco Rolex is a fine, early Rolex "Rebberg" timekeeping mechanism housed in its original 9K gold Rolex case.

It has all of its original Rolex parts down to the hands and winding crown.

Its case, whish is lightly tinted rose in color and just a bit larger than the cases of most similar ladies Rolex watches from the era, has an interesting cushion shaped bezel. The bezel has two indentions near the crown and light wear; otherwise the case presents in excellent condition with light previous restoration to the bezel.

Its dial has been previously refinished in vintage. Originally, it would not have had the Oyster printing under the word Rolex as it is not waterproof and the minute markings would have been more prominent. It is bright and clean with only light aging. Please inquire if you would like it freshly expertly restored.

Its Rolex movement is clean. Occasionally there is just a very slight slip when setting the hands.

All four of our Master Watchmakers spent two years breathing new life into the century old movement. One of them used to be the watchmaker for an authorized Rolex dealer and was given special training by Rolex at their Beverly Hills Service Center, has fully serviced the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, installing a correct new mainspring, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive timing testing and regulation (a $995 value).

These watches are known for not keeping extremely accurate time because of their age, but this one is now an exception to that. We have timed it on a machine that spins it in all directions simulating it being worn on the wrist. It is keeping very accurate time.

For the finishing touch, we have equipped this Rolex with a brand new Hirsch crocograin strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.
