1928 Vacheron & Constantin Vintage Ladies Art Deco Watch - 18K Gold

Vacheron & Constantin

Item No. 7976

Today's offering showcases this rare and very fine Art Deco Vacheron & Constantin ladies watch.

Built circa the second half of the 1920's, it combines exceptional quality with classic styling. Featuring an elegant cushion case and a timeless silver dial it showcases a wonderful Art Deco style with some subtleties carried over from Art Nouveau sensibilities.

Its beautiful original blue steel "Cathedral" hands have aged to a deep purple tone with a hint of bronze visible at various angles...unfortunately, the camera couldn't quite capture it. We've selected a band for the it that matches the tone of the hands almost perfectly!

The Art Deco period, with its love for geometrical design saw the creation of striking pieces by Vacheron & Constantin. These were mainly dress watches, although some were sports watches, as well as exotic and luxurious pieces. They also were often small by today's standards, keeping in step with the tastes of the time.

We are pleased to offer it with all of its original parts. It has just finished an expertly done years-long sympathetic restoration.

Its 18K gold original case is in honest condition and presents nicely on the wrist. It has not been over polished and has several pin prick indentions on the bezel that have been left.

Its dial is bright and attractive, professionally restored by one of the leading dial experts in North America. It still retains its original raised enamel signature. And its very high grade movement, originally adjusted to five positions, has been painstakingly restored.

Three of our Master Watchmakers and craftsmen have worked for three years sympathetically restoring the watch (an $1895 value.) We acquired it from an old watchmaker's estate where it had sat unrunning for decades and took it on as a project to save it from the scrap gold heap and breathe new life into it again for future generations.

Our Master Watchmaker who did the most work on the watch and performed its final full servicing worked on Vacheron & Constantin watches as an authorized watchmaker for the brand's own service center and was a watchmaker for an authorized Rolex dealer and was given special training by Rolex at their Beverly Hills Service Center to be an authorized Rolex watchmaker. He has done authorized watchmaking work for the Richemont group's service department, a conglomerate that owns many of high-end brands including Vacheron & Constantin and Cartier.

For the finishing touch, we have installed a brand new high quality leather strap designed for fixed lug watches making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function and a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.

Your watch is important to us, and we will take care of it for its lifetime. We provide the best after sale care in the business with an extremely experienced team of four Master Watchmakers all of whom each have over thirty-five years of experience and a large number of parts.
