1930's Cresarrow Vintage Art Deco Ladies Watch - 18K Gold & Diamonds (Platinum)

Cartier

Item No. 6791

A classic and luxurious Art Deco 18K gold and diamond watch by Cresarrow in all-original condition.

Today's offering showcases this beautiful original Art Deco ladies vintage Cresarrow watch. It has an ornately engraved Art Deco case done in 18K yellow gold and diamonds, and we that suspect the bezel is platinum, although we have not tested it so it is possible that it is 18K white gold.

Cresarrow of New York was one of the premier American luxury watchmakers/jewelers in the first several decades of the twentieth century. Founded by Henry Blank in the late nineteenth century, Cresarrow contracted with the esteemed likes of Patek Philippe, Vacheron & Constantin, IWC and others to build superior quality wristwatch cases for their U.S. market watches.

Cresarrow also supplied complete watches to Tiffany & Co. and Cartier and evidence suggests the company contracted C.H. Meylan, a high grade Swiss niche manufacturer, and IWC Schaffhausen to produce some of these movements because the American firm had no manufacturing capacity of its own.

While Cresarrow's main watch business was as a contractor, they also branded and sold a fairly small number of watches under their own name, like this watch. Its stunning Cresarrow made case exudes quality and it features its original very high-grade 18 jewel movement adjusted to three positions.

It is all original down to the dial, hands, and beautiful ornate winding crown. One of our watchmakers has disassembled it down to its last screw and cleaned and oiled it. It is keeping quite accurate time for a ladies watch of its age, running within approximately one second per hour fast. For the finishing touch we have equipped it with a brand new Hirsch lizard grain strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function and a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
