1930's Rolex Vintage Antique Mens Ultra Thin 9K Gold Pocket Watch - Rare Sector Dial

Rolex

Item No. 10263SHR

For the Rolex or pocket watch connoisseur....today's offering showcases this true rarity of a Rolex pocket watch made for the British market. It is extremely thin and has a stunning sector dial and very high-grade "extra slim" movement.

By the 1930's, Rolex had shifted the majority of its production to wristwatches however they continued to make a relatively small number of traditional pocket watches.

The centerpiece of this watch is its amazing sector dial. Different sections were of the dial were brushed in different directions give it a two-tone effect that changes tone as the light hits it from different directions. It is accented by wonderful heated blue steel "epee" hands.

Powering the watch is a marvelous "extra slim" Rolex movement. Originally adjusted for 6 positions and temperatures, it would have been one of Rolex's top-tier offerings at the time. The whole watch including the domed glass crystal measures only 8.2mm thick at the peak of its dome.

Our research only turned up one other like it, though we are not suggesting only two were made. The other one has a silver dial.

It remains in all-original condition and does not appear to have ever been significantly polished.

Its case presents as better than near mint. Its untouched original dial is just short of mint with only slight aging visible under magnification. Its bow is nice and tight. And its incredibly fine movement is very clean.

One of our Master Watchmakers, who used to be the watchmaker for an authorized Rolex dealer and was given special training by Rolex at their Beverly Hills Service Center to be an authorized Rolex watchmaker, has fully serviced the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, installing a new mainspring, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive timing testing and regulation (a $795 value).

Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function and a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.
