1930's Tiffany & Co. Cressarrow Vintage Art Deco Ladies Watch - Platinum & Diamonds

Tiffany & Co.

Item No. 7182

In the 1940's, no name better captured the idea of embracing the best life had to offer than that of Tiffany & Co. One of their special offerings to their most discriminating female clients was a line of jeweled watches emblazoned with the Tiffany & Co. name on the dial. Although the maker's name were always hidden, the retailer contracted with a number of the world's fine watch and jewelry making firms to produce these treasured timepieces.

One such firm was Cresarrow of New York, one of the best case manufacturers of the day. Founded by Henry Blank in the late nineteenth century, Cresarrow contracted with Patek Philippe, Vacheron & Constantin, and Tiffany & Co. and other firms to build some of their wristwatch cases for the U.S. market.

Cresarrow also supplied movements for Tiffany's watches, as is the case with this special watch. Evidence suggests the company worked in collaboration with C.H. Meylan, a high grade niche manufacturer, and IWC Schaffhausen for production of their movements.

Today's offering showcases this stunning ladies vintage lades Tiffany & Co. watch made by Cresarrow with original full brilliant diamond bezel. The diamonds on the original factory set bezel are perfectly white and very fiery, much higher quality than those on lesser diamond watches from the era, as one might expect from Tiffany: they are D-F in color and VVS-VS clarity.

Our photos couldn't do it justice. Its parts are original down down to the winding crown and even the platinum snake mesh bracelet. The only replacement part is one hand is a vintage replacement.

It is in pleasing condition, appearing to have been treated with an appreciation for its value.

Its case is in excellent condition. Its original dial shows only fairly mild aging.

One of our Master Watchmakers, who used to be the watchmaker for an authorized Rolex dealer and was given special training by Rolex at their Beverly Hills Service Center to be an authorized Rolex watchmaker has fully serviced the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, replacing any overly worn components with genuine parts, installing a new mainspring, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive timing testing and regulation (a $795 value).

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, and a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.

If you are looking for a special treasure for someone in your life, this is it. Modern platinum and diamond Tiffany watches normally carry price tags in the $30,000 range and don't match the charm and romance of this carefully-preserved vintage original.
