Today's offering showcases this rare and very fine Art Deco Vacheron & Constantin mens midsize watch. Built circa the mid-1930's, it combines exceptional quality with striking styling. Featuring an elegant case with special, so-called hooded tubular lugs and a timeless silver dial it showcases a wonderful and distinctive late Art Deco style.
The Art Deco period, with its love for geometrical design saw the creation of striking pieces by Vacheron & Constantin. These were mainly dress watches, although some were sports watches, as well as exotic and luxurious pieces. They also were often small by today's standards, keeping in step with the tastes of the time.
Its design is to the Patek Philippe ref. 1438. With the exception of the winding crown, its part are all Vacheron and original. It presents in beautiful restored condition.
Its dramatic, 18K gold Vacheron & Constantin case is near mint. Its dial is bright and attractive, professionally restored by one of the leading dial experts in North America. Its very high grade movement is keeping time.
One of our watchmakers has disassembled the movement down to the last screw and serviced it. For the finishing touch we have installed a brand new crocodile strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function and a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.
