1937 Rolex Oyster Chronometer Vintage Boys Size Midsize Unisex Watch - 9K Gold

Rolex

Item No. 7522

Today's offering showcases this fine and uncommmon early Rolex Oyster, made while the company was building its early Oyster line.

Built only a little over a decade after the creation of very first Oyster in 1926, this watch features an original early Oyster case and Rolex chronometer movement. It has a wonderful "railroad dial" with Art Deco Breguet style numerals and blued steel "moderne" hands.

Powering the watch is its original Rolex "hunter" handwound movement timed to six positions.

During this period, after assembly and testing, Rolex labeled their best performing movements with a "Prima designation." This designation then had three levels - Prima, Extra Prima, or Ultra Prima. The rare high-grade Rolex offered here is a rare example designated "Ultra Prima", the highest classification, and it is labeled as an observatory chronometer.

Originally intended for men, this boys size watch measures 29mm wide excluding the crown.

It is fully Rolex down to its crown and original hands and still retains its serial number stamped on the back.

Its fabulous dial presents in excellent condition. Its case is honest, with indentions in the soft 18K back. Both the bezel and case back that form the top and bottom of the "Oyster" screw down well.

One of our watchmakers has disassembled it down to its last screw and cleaned and oiled it. For the finishing touch we have equipped it with a brand new leather strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a full-page custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
