Today's offering showcases this gorgeous and uncommon C.O.T. Certified Pre-Owned example of one of the company's distinctive and fine late Art Deco ladies dress watches.
Complete with its 14K rose gold case that features distinctive large tubular lugs and a complementary salmon dial (face), it has elegance and timeless class.
Powering this gem is a fine, early Rolex timekeeping mechanism. Featuring Rolex's patented Super Balance system as well as possessing a tonneau shape for longer running reserve and more accurate timekeeping, it employed Rolex's premier movement technology for the era.
The movement is higher grade than those normally found in the company's dress watches from this era and was originally adjusted to two positions. It is also earlier than most similar watches which were made in the mid-1940's.
While many of the company's similar ladies dress watches from the era were very nice, this example is a little unusual in the beauty of its case design and the quality of its movement. While not a large watch, it's also a little larger than the dozen's of similar watches we've owned from the era.
It is all original down to even the original winding crown.
Its case is in excellent condition and still retains two perfectly crisp original hallmarks. It untouched original dial is in honest condition with fairly light aging.
One of our Master Watchmakers, who used to be the watchmaker for an authorized Rolex dealer and was given special training by Rolex at their Beverly Hills Service Center to be an authorized Rolex watchmaker, has fully serviced the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, installing a new mainspring, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive timing testing and regulation (a $695 value).
We have timed it on a machine that spins it in all directions simulating it being worn on the wrist. It is keeping accurate time.
For the finishing touch, we have meticulously detailed it making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Accompanying it is a vintage Rolex box that was with the watch when we acquired it.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, and a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.
