While many vintage Patek Philippe watches are prized for their movements, as is the case with this watch, this watch also reminds us that the firm's mastery extended just as naturally to design.
We are proud to offer the timelessly classic Patek Philippe wristwatch showcased in today's offering. It features an elegant 18K rose gold square case with fabulous bunny ear lugs and two-tone silver dial with rose gold accents.
Its square case has an attractive form. Executed in warm 18K rose gold, it strikes a balance between sharp Art Deco geometry and graceful elegance. The distinctive softly curved lugs soften the silhouette and give the watch a sculptural quality that separates it from the more conventional rectangular and square dress watches produced by its contemporaries.
As a mens midsize, it is well suited for someone with a small wrist, though its included Patek Philippe band could fit even a larger one.
The dial complements it well. Its stepped architecture, subsidiary seconds register, applied rose gold markers, and finely proportioned minute track create depth and visual interest without sacrificing restraint. Each element appears exactly where it should.
As fine on the inside as the outside, it is powered by an illustrious handwound Patek movement, unquestionably among the finest hand-winding movements ever built. It possesses all the necessary capabilities to earn it its place as one the finest timepieces in the world.
Extremely high grade, it has eight adjustments - five for chronometer positions and three for heat, cold, and even isochronism. Isochronism is the amount of wind left in the movement. Most watches slow down slightly as their power reserve moves toward empty.
We were fortunate to acquire it with all of its original parts down to all hands and winding crown.
Its case presents nicely. It shows signs of fairly mild to moderate signs of previous polishing, and the back has a decorative marking. On the wrist it presents in beautiful condition.
Its dial was partially restored in vintage times and still retains its original raised enamel printing everywhere including underneath the restored signature. The markers have a light patina. Please inquire if you would like them cleaned.
Two of our Master Watchmakers have fully serviced the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, adjusting the setting parts, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive timing testing (an $895 value). It is running strong and true, keeping very accurate time.
For the finishing touch, it comes equipped it with a genuine Patek Philippe crocodile leather strap and aftermarket rose gold tone buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Please inquire if you would like us to obtain an Extract from the Patek Philippe Archives. Patek charges 550 CHF.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a full-page custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
