Today's offering showcases this rare and very fine Vacheron & Constantin ladies World War II era watch with beautiful design and tear drop lugs.
Built circa 1940 or close thereafter, it combines exceptional quality with classic styling. Featuring an elegant square case with tear drop lugs and a timeless silver dial it showcases a wonderful vintage with some subtitles that carried over from late Art Deco sensibilities.
The Art Deco period, with its love for geometrical design saw the creation of striking pieces by Vacheron & Constantin. These were mainly dress watches, although some were sports watches, as well as exotic and luxurious pieces. They also were often small by today's standards, keeping in step with the tastes of the time.
It presents very nicely. Its 18K gold original case is excellent condition. It shows only light remnants of wear. It retains both of its hallmarks on the side of the case and side of a lug.
Its dial was restored in vintage times. It is still clean and has toned to a light sepia tone, giving it a true vintage look. Please inquire if you would like it restored by one of the leading dial experts in North America.
The dial appears just slightly more silver than the photos seem to suggest.
And its very high grade movement originally designed to run accurately even across a wide range of temperatures is keeping very accurate time.
One of our Master Watchmakers has performed any needed servicing making it ready for immediate enjoyment. We have timed it to precision and tested it including on a machine that spins it in all directions simulating it being worn on the wrist.
For the finishing touch we have installed a brand new leather strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment. We also stock a variety of others straps. Please ask us if you're interested.
Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function and a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.
