Today's offering showcases this wonderful original example of one of the company's distinctive and fine 1940's ladies dress watches.
We love its charming style and the contrast of its untouched two-tone salmon dial with its steel case, something not often found on a lady's dress Rolex from the era. It's a watch full of character that suggests a rich history. Our photos couldn't begin to do it justice!
Powering this classic is a fine, early Rolex timekeeping mechanism. Featuring Rolex's patented Super Balance system as well as possessing a tonneau shape for longer running reserve and more accurate timekeeping, it employed Rolex's premier movement technology for the era and was marketed as an Observatory Chronometer, an unusual distinction for a women's watch at the time.
We have a special place in our hearts for this petite size gem. We are pleased to offer it in original condition.
Its case is excellent condition and strongly retains its original stamped serial number on the back. Its original and untouched dial has toned somewhat deeply, giving it a true vintage look. Please inquire if you would like it refinished.
A Master Watchmaker has overhauled the movement, which is keeping time.
For the finishing touch we have installed a new leather strap and aftermarket Rolex style buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
