We are proud to offer today this extremely fine and all-original mid-century ladies Patek Philippe.
With its understated silver face and timeless case with sensuous curves and prominent lugs, it showcases a classic and elegant vintage Patek style.
Specially made for the Raymond C. Yard Co., a prestigious jeweler in New York, Yard signed Pateks are found much less often even than Tiffany & Co. signed Pateks. Mr. Yard's regular clients included members of the Vanderbilt, Flagler, duPont, Harriman, and Woolworth families, as well as movie stars like Joan Crawford and Douglas Fairbanks.
Powering it is its illustrious original handwound movement. Patek designed the extremely high-grade movement to maintain very accurate timekeeping even across a wide range of temperatures, positions, and even amounts of power left (isochronism), something only the highest top tier of mens movements could do. With eight adjustments, it is among the finest hand-winding ladies movements built.
We were fortunate to acquire it in all-original condition. It has 100% original parts down to the dials, hands, and winding crown and even the very cool original crystal that mirrors the side profile of the case. It presents in pleasing condition.
Its original Patek Philippe case is in excellent condition with only light wear and one pin prick indention on a corner. It shows only fairly light signs of previous polishing - most of the lines remain quite strong, and it retains its original hallmark.
Its desirable double-signed silver dial looks original and untouched, better than near mint. It is very clean with only very slight warming.
The watch has an original or period solid 14K bracelet, that likely was installed by the U.S. jeweler at the time of the sale.
One of our Master Watchmakers has fully serviced the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, installing a correct new-old-stock genuine Patek balance staff for the watch's beating heart, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive timing testing and regulation (an $845 value).
It is keeping very accurate time.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function and a full-page custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.
Please inquire if you would like us to obtain an Extract from the Patek Philippe archives for you. Patek charges 500 Swiss Francs to provide one.
