1950 Omega Vintage Mens Watch with Bumper Automatic, Waterproof Style - 14K Gold Shell & Stainless Steel

Omega

Item No. 4691

Today's offering showcases this wonderfully designed mid-century gents Omega watch with large bullhorn lugs. Both automatic and originally done in a waterproof style, it's an elegant and classic example of a vintage Omega with robust capabilities.

For the movement, the company used one of its first automatic movements, the Caliber 351 with so-called bumper rotor. This mechanism broke new ground for Omega and served as the basis for the mass-marketed Seamaster and Constellation models that followed.

It also possesses a technical dial designed with prominent second markings and a large sweep seconds hand to facilitate precision timing. These watches enabled a doctor to accurately determine his patient's pulse with just a few glances at his wrist and the 1/5 second markings also served the needs of men in other demanding sporting and technical fields.

It is 100% Omega down to the dial, hands, winding crown, and even signed crystal.

It is in honest original condition. The full size case shows wear through of the gold on the edges and points of the bullhorn lugs. The original silver dial with prominent 1/5 second markings has warmed to a sepia tone, giving it a true vintage look. And the Omega 28,10 based mechanism is running strong and true.

Our watchmaker has cleaned and oiled the watch and installed a brand new Omega crystal. For the finishing touch we have equipped it with a crocodile band making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
