Today's offering showcases this rare and exquisite Rolex creation. It is original and fully Rolex.
It is a special creation in the style of those made exclusively for Bucherer, the premier Swiss watch retailer and jeweler. As Hess and Dowling state in their authoritative work on Rolex, watches like this are, "in fact, the last hand made Rolex watches."
It was made for the Commonwealth market and still retains even its original Hadley for Rolex band clasp.
Bejeweled with seventy (70) diamonds the platinum Rolex case is absolutely stunning!
Showcasing a beautiful open geometric stirrup motif with full brilliant diamond bezel and four emerald cut diamonds at the centers, this cocktail watch as it is called, added the perfect finishing touch to outfits worn to galas, award ceremonies, or other special gatherings. It is hinged to better fit the contour of the wrist.
The brilliant diamonds are white, near flawless, and full of fire as one would expect from original Rolex contractor set diamonds.
We were fortunate to acquire this important Rolex in fabulous condition. It has all of its original parts down to its original clasp.
Its case presents as just short of mint with only very light wear and a very light indention. Its dial has been restored by one of the leading dial experts in North America and is bright and clean.
One of our Master Watchmakers who used to be the watchmaker for an authorized Rolex dealer and was given special training by Rolex at their Beverly Hills Service Center to be an authorized Rolex watchmaker (for many years now Rolex does not "certify" they only "train"), has fully serviced the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, replacing any overly worn components with genuine Rolex parts, installing a new mainspring, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive timing, testing and regulation (a $895 value).
Its original handwound Rolex movement, signed Rolex under the dial, is very clean. We have also timed it on a machine that simulates it being worn on the wrist. It is keeping accurate time.
For the finishing touch, we have meticulously detailed it and installed a brand new cord bracelet designed to replicate the style of the original with the watch's original clasp making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function and a full-page custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.
If you are looking for a true treasure for that special someone in your life, this is it. Modern Rolexes don't match the charm and romance of this vintage original.
