1950's Ulysse Nardin Vintage Chronometer Full Size Mens Calatrava Watch - Stainless Steel

Ulysse Nardin

Item No. 7514

Today's offering showcases this classic and very elegant mens Ulysse Nardin chronometer watch. Its features a wonderful Calatrava case that has lugs that are subtly double faceted - Calatrava cases are one of our favorite designs from the era.

We love its handsome case and strong black dial with Arabic numerals for the even hours. This style could pass as a Patek - that was our first thought when we saw the watch.

At just over 35mm in diameter it is full size for the era, and its large dial gives it the presence of a 36mm or 37mm watch on the wrist.

It is fully Ulysse Nardin and presents in true expertly restored condition.

Its steel case presents as just short of mint with one natural age spot on a lug. Its gloss black dial has been meticulously restored - its printing could pass as UN factory done to the naked eye.

As part of the restoration its fine chronometer movement has been freshly overhauled by a Master Watchmaker. It continues to run true keeping chronometer grade time in three testing positions.

For the finishing touch it has been equipped it with a brand new leather strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to its performance.

Ulysse Nardin:
Ulysse Nardin is best known for creating chronometers, extremely accurate time keeping instruments often used by ship's captains to plot and follow the correct course while at sea. By employing sextants and chronometers, a captain could track the changes in his course over time and determine the exact location of his ship and Nardin's marine chronometers were among the most reliable and sought after.
