Today's offering showcases this full size and classic mens automatic Ulysse Nardin chronometer. It has a timelessly vintage styled case and strong black dial.
Measuring 35mm in diameter without the crown by 42mm long, it is about the size of a Rolex Datejust. Powering it is its original well-made Ulysse Nardin automatic movement.
Its gorgeous dial has an Explorer style configuration with numerals at the primary hours.
It has just finished a true expertly done restoration. The dial has been meticulously refinished - the gilt printing could pass as UN factory done to the naked eye. The case presents as mint.
As part of the restoration a Master Watchmaker has fully serviced the movement. At times there is a very slight noise setting the hands forward. It is very slight, not present all the time, and not present when setting the hands backward.
Amazingly after more than half a century it continues to keep exceptionally accurate time.
Photos of the inside available upon request.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
A classic five decade old Ulysse Nardin that presents like new!
Ulysse Nardin is best known by many collectors for creating chronometers, extremely accurate time keeping instruments. Their marine chronometer used by ship's captains to plot and follow the correct course while at sea. By employing sextants and chronometers, a captain could track the changes in his course over time and determine the exact location of his ship, and Nardin's marine chronometers were among the most reliable and sought after.
