Today's offering showcases this Certified Pre-Owned Rolex ref. 6084 Oyster Perpetual. It's a watch that is perfectly at home being worn everyday or only for special occasions.

The 6084 was also one of the relatively few Rolex models to feature the short-lived Super Oyster crown which was produced for only three years. The “Super-Oyster” winding crown was an attempt by Rolex to create a waterproof winding crown which did not need to be screwed down. While the system itself worked, in time the rubber seal perished and therefore this crown type was phased out after only a few years of production.

Also of interest this model was the historically important watch presented to Sir Edmund Hillary by Rolex of India shortly after his ascent of Mt. Everest in 1953.

Housed in one of Rolex's water-tight semi-Bubbleback Oyster cases, the wristwatch originally offered its owner complete protection against water, dust, and perspiration. Inside the rugged case Rolex placed their Bubbleback A260 movement.

Its parts are all-original down to all hands and its original Super Oyster crown with the exception of the case back which is a genuine original Rolex service replacement back dated 1967.

Its case presents as scratch-free. Its dial is original and untouched. It's in excellent condition with one small area of radium burn from where the minute hand sat for many years while the watch was safely stored away.

Its Rolex A260 movement is keeping time. One of our watchmakers has just fully disassembled the movement down to its last screw and freshly cleaned and oiled it.

For the finishing touch we have equipped it with a brand new Teju lizard strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
