Today's offering showcases this uncommon Rolex Oyster Perpetual model #6552 encased in stainless steel. The Oyster Perpetual clearly demonstrates the qualities associated with classic Rolex watches: precision, reliability, durability, and class.
Produced in fairly limited numbers in the early-to-mid 1950's, these watches are fine and desirable.
Housed in one of Rolex's water-tight Oyster cases, at the time the wristwatch offered its owner protection against water, dust, and perspiration. Inside the rugged case Rolex placed one of their so-called "Bubbleback" early self-winding movements, the Caliber 645, keeping the watch powered by movements of the wrist.
The honeycomb dial has gold accents, giving it a dressier style than an all steel version. It is fitted with a vintage crimped link Rolex Oyster bracelet.
It presents in very pleasing condition. The honeycomb dial has been previous refinished and the original Oyster case is in very nice.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to its performance.
