In the 1950's, in the midst of their high output of utilitarian Oyster sports watches, Rolex also made much more elegant dress watches. These fine wristwatches often combine a superior hand-wound mechanism with beautiful aesthetics.

It measures 34mm without the crown - the same diameter as a mens Rolex Date model.

Powering the watch is its Rolex caliber 710 handwound hunter movement with Rolex's patented Super Balance system.

It has all of its original parts down to its original cabochon Rolex crown and has just finished a true expertly done restoration.

With the exception of some aging mostly hidden on the underside between the lugs, its case otherwise presents as beautiful mint. Despite what the photos seem to suggest, all of its original Rolex markings are still readable. Since the photos were taken the back has been snapped on exactly straight.

Its two-tone dial with its full luminous markers was previously restored in vintages and is bright and clean.

As part of the restoration, its movement has just been overhauled by a Master Watchmaker. It is keeping running very accurately, keeping time on par with a new Rolex in our testing position.
