In the 1930's through the 50's, in the midst of their high output of utilitarian Oyster sports watches, Rolex also made much more elegant dress watches. These fine wristwatches often combine a superior hand-wound mechanism with beautiful aesthetics.
The elegant and uncommon dress Rolex Precision showcased in today's offering is a prime example of this phenomenon. It features very fine and dramatic styling and a well-executed handwound movement.
It has a pleasing size - its diameter measures slightly over 35mm. We really love the aesthetic of this watch - and it blends a dress style with high performance.
Its dial has an understated vintage design.
It has just finished a true expertly done restoration. It has all of its original parts and presents in gorgeous condition.
Its case presents in beautiful condition. Two of the case lugs appear to have been discretely previously reinforced, as is common with watches with thin lugs, and the back has the tiniest hint of one short hairline. The engine bay has slight aging which can only be seen when it is opened as is common with these. Otherwise, it presents as gorgeous mint.
Its dial has been meticulously refinished - the printing could pass as Rolex factory done to the naked eye.
As part of the restoration its movement has just been overhauled by a Master Watchmaker.
We have timed the watch on multiple systems and on a machine that spins the watch around simulating it being worn on the wrist - amazingly, after about seven decades the watch is keeping time with 2-3 seconds per day even when spun in all directions.
Your watch is important to us, and we will take care of it for its lifetime. We provide the best after sale care in the business with an extremely experienced team of four Master Watchmakers all of whom each have over thirty-five years of experience and a large number of parts. One used to be the watchmaker for an authorized Rolex dealership and was given special training by Rolex at their Beverly Hills Service Center.
For the finishing touch it has been equipped with a brand new leather strap and aftermarket Rolex style buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment. If you would like a most distressed vintage style strap to pair with it please inquire.
Included with the purchase is a one-year international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
Don't miss the opportunity to own the perfect complement to your sporty Datejust, Sub, GMT, or Daytona.
