1955 Jaeger-LeCoultre Memovox Alarm Reveil Retailed by Turler - Solid 14K Gold & Stainless Steel

Jaeger-LeCoultre

Item No. 5530

In vintage times, as lifestyle paces moved faster and faster, top Swiss firms needed a way to enhance the experiences of their now frequently traveling top clients. The renowned engineers at Jaeger-LeCoultre rose to the occasion by creating the company's famed Memovox alarm wristwatch in 1951.

This special wristwatch featured a fully mechanical alarm system that its owner could use to better organize and govern his most precious possession - his time. To pull off this technological marvel, Jaeger-LeCoultre had to equip these watches with a second power winding spring, inner gearing, and even an additional stem and crown, making nearly an entire second movement that worked seamlessly in conjunction with the normal timing portion.

The Jaeger-LeCoultre wristwatch featured in today's offering is an example of one of these Memovox watches, originally retailed by the prestigious Zurich jeweler Türler.

The 35mm gold top case with stainless steel back - one millimeter smaller than a classic Datejust - is in excellent condition. The silver dial is original and in excellent condition. And the manually wound Jaeger-LeCoultre alarm movement is clean.

Our watchmaker has just freshly cleaned and oiled the movement.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
