During the latter half of the 1950's in the era of the '57 Chevy and the Cadillac fin, Jaeger-LeCoultre made avante garde wristwatches for the U.S. market. Embodying distinctive design from the period, they are funky and original, yet elegant enough to be worn on the wrists of discriminating ladies and collectors.
The ladies asymmetrical LeCoultre featured in this offering is an example of this phenomenon. The dial and hands perfectly complement the shape of the case.
The watch was fully restored by Jaeger-LeCoultre in 1999 then sat largely unworn. We acquired it from the owner who had the restoration done.
Our watchmaker has freshly cleaned and oiled the high grade LeCoultre caliber K840 movement, and it is running perfectly.
Accopmanying the watch are its original JLC repair guarantee and receipt detailing the work that was done.
Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function and a new Connoisseur of Time timing certificate attesting to its performance.
This piece blends the worlds of art and horology as both a noteworthy 1950's design and a high-grade wristwatch.
