Today's offering showcases this handsome and classic thin Audemars Piguet mens dress watch in gorgeous restored condition. Our pictures couldn't fully do it justice!
Unlike most similar AP's from the era, which only have hour and minute hands, this three-handed example also features sweep seconds.
Featuring an elegant case with thin bezel and a classic silver dial (face), it possesses timeless elegance and class. And equipped with an extremely fine, original Audemars Piguet movement, it showcases top tier Swiss watchmaking. It has the same look as the ultra thin dress watches but without a caliber 2003 movement - this one is the slightly thicker and higher grade caliber 2002.
Like only the very finest watches in the world - select watches from the likes of Patek, AP, and V & C, it is adjusted to four positions, heat, and cold - it is very high-grade.
This movement has the very last cal. 2002 movement the company made in 1958. They made these in a small run with serial numbers from 69461 – 69560.
It measures 33mm in diameter without the crown.
Epitomizing the essence of "'the classic watch" remembered today, watches like this made by Patek, Vacheron & AP feature a manually wound movement, round gold cases, understated dial, slender hands, and simple baton markers. As one writer aptly stated, "The extra-slim watch, whose style embraces only the strict essentials, has continued to seduce for its elegance and discretion."
We were fortunate to acquire it with all of its original parts down to the hands. The crown may be original or may be a fitting replacement.
It has just finished a true expertly done restoration and presents in gorgeous condition - it presents as 9.7 out of 10.
Its case presents as mint condition with light signs of previous polishing. On the wrist, it still retains very nice lines. Its silver dial has been meticulously restored - the printing could pass as Audemars Piguet factory done to the naked eye.
As part of the restoration, a Master Watchmaker has freshly overhauled it. It is running strong and true, keeping very accurate time.
For the finishing touch, we have installed a new aftermarket leather band making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
Your watch is important to us, and we will take care of it for its lifetime.
