When it comes to aesthetics, for some collectors topping the chart of the Jaeger-LeCoultre's special vintage wristwatches is the exquisite LeCoultre/Vacheron & Constantin Galaxy Mystery Dial.
Named after the way the hour marker mysteriously floats around the dial, seemingly unattached to the rest of the watch yet keeping perfect time, these exceptional wristwatches captivate the imagination.
Adding to its collector rarity, the Galaxy is the only watch in the world signed outwardly by both LeCoultre and Vacheron & Constantin (Vacheron & Constantin and Jeager-LeCoultre shared the same distributorship in the U.S.).
Today's offering showcases this wonderful Mysterieuse in beautiful restored condition with its rare and pleasing original LeCoultre / Vacheron & Constantin box.
It has just finished a true expertly done restoration that took over a year to complete. It presents gorgeously on the wrist.
The case is in excellent condition with a couple of pin pricks on the back. On the wrist it presents as scratch-free. The original dial has just been meticulously restored by one of the leading dial experts in North America and includes the copyright symbol so often missing.
One of our watchmakers has fully disassembled the very fine handwound JLC movement down to the last screw and cleaned and oiled the movement. It is near pristine and keeping very accurate time. Please inquire if you would like photos of the inside.
For the finishing touch we have equipped it with a brand new crocodile skin strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
As mentioned, accompanying the watch is its rare and very cool original LeCoultre / Vacheron & Constantin box in excellent condition.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
