Today's offering showcases this uncommon and gorgeously restored "Seamaster Special" from c. 1958. It has a beautiful royal blue vignette dial without a date and a pleasing case style that together gives it a great look. Our photos couldn't do it justice!
The "Seamaster Special", the intriguing model name Omega dubbed it, was a fairly short-lived model produced from part of 1960 through part of 1962.
Powering the watch is Omega's top-tier caliber 501 movement, one of the first esteemed 500's series movements.
It has 20 jewels, three more than in most similar movements, and is one of the finest mass-produced automatic movements from era.
It measures 35mm in diameter without the crown, in between the sizes of a Rolex Date and a Datejust.
It has fully Omega parts and has just finished a true expertly done restoration.
Its case presents as mint condition. Its dial has been meticulously restored - the printing could pass as Omega factory done.
As part of the restoration the movement has been freshly overhauled by a Master Watchmaker, which is very clean. It is running exceptionally strong and true keeping time like a brand new Omega in our testing recording position.
For the finishing touch a new leather strap and aftermarket Omega style buckle has been installed making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
Note: The watch's page on the Omega website can be found here.
