1960 Rolex Oyster Perpetual Vintage Mens Uncommon Ref. 5552 Watch with Silver Dial - Stainless Steel

Rolex

Item No. 6477H

Today's offering showcases this uncommon and original Rolex Oyster Perpetual model #5552 encased in stainless steel. The 5552 is one of the models that served as the pre-cursor to the Air King.

In constitution similar to a Datejust model except without the date display and with a slightly smaller diameter - 34mm instead of 36mm - the Oyster Perpetual clearly demonstrates the qualities associated with Rolex watches: precision, reliability, durability, and class.

Powered by the Caliber 1530 movement, the mechanism that powered later Air King watches this original vintage classic is worthy of a home in a fine collection or under the cuff of a deserving gentleman.

We purchased an impressive collection of sixteen special Pateks and Rolexes including this one from a doctor who was a collector's collector - a gentleman with tremendous knowledge, discerning taste, and a disciplined eye for detail. Each watch has an original buckle and many have original boxes.

We were fortunate to acquire it in such beautiful all-original condition. The silver dial is just short of perfect mint and has just slightly warmed, giving it a pleasing vintage look. The luminous on the original "alpha" hands matches the dial luminous perfectly - it's a beautiful butter color - and the original blue steel seconds hands complements the dial color well.

It is fully original down to the dial, hands, and winding crown. Its case presents very nicely on the wrist.

For the finishing touch we have equipped it with a brand new crocodile strap and it has a Rolex buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to its performance.
