Created in 1967 by Omega's sales director Robert Forster, the Dynamic is a wonderful example of a true retro style. The clean and functional watch, a considerable success for Omega, possessed a number of designed elements that made it stand out:
An ellipse shape with recessed crown determined to be the best geometric shape for the wrist, determined after extensive study
Easy to read and beautifully designed two-tone dial with "time zone" sections
Unicoc case with hermetically sealed crystal water-resistant to a depth of 30m.
Easily interchangeable water-resistant Cor-fam strap
According to an Omega advertisement at the time, "The shape of the Omega Dynamic was determined by the anatomy of your wrist; its dial by the workings of your eyes; it strap by the physiology of your skin."
We are pleased to offer this second generation Dynamic. It is a unisex size that measures 35mm wide by 30mm long.
It is 100% Omega down to the dial, hands, crown, and even crystal! It present as mint.
The dial is original and just short of perfect mint. To the naked eye it appears perfect mint. Under magnification and just the right angle of light, light crazing to the surface can be seen.
The case presents as beautiful mint. The gold plating on the top may have been previously redone. It has just been overhauled by a Master Watchmaker. It is keeping very accurate time.
Note that the fully recessed crown makes the watch a bit difficult to wind. It's a prime candidate to be stored on a winder for convenience so it doesn't have to ever be handwound.
For the finishing touch it has been equipped with a new aftermarket band designed to replicate the look of the original making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function and a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.
An almost fifty year old Dynamic that presents beautifully on the wrist!
Please note: An example of this watch resides in the Omega museum, and a published example can be found in Marco Richon's work Omega: A Journey Through Time, 2007, pg. 483.
