1960's Swiss Jules Jurgensen Vintage Mens Sporting Divers Chronograph - Stainless Steel

Jules Jurgensen

Item No. 5209

Today's offering showcases a cool original 1960's Jules Jurgensen divers chronograph in steel. The full featured chrono was originally tested waterproof to 20ATMs (600 ft.). It has a great look. The matte black dial with large luminous markers for divers is all original.

The dial has a tachometer scale for easily determining speed and distance and the bezel rotates for tracking dive times.

Powering the watch is a Landeron caliber 248 movement. For those unfamiliar with vintage chronographs, due to their complexity, in vintage times most brands, including firms like Rolex, Breitling, and Heuer, did not fully manufacture their own movements but rather purchased them from companies who specialized in making the mechanisms.

One of the well-known chronograph movement makers of the period was the the Swiss firm Landeron. Their movements are best known for powering some of Heuer's and Baume et Mercier's chronographs, as well as watches from Gallet and other Swiss watch houses.

Although the current Jules Jurgensen brand makes lesser expensive watches, in vintage times the quality was higher and the brand had a higher positioning in the market.

Our watchmaker has serviced the movement. The chronograph resets crisply and to a perfect zero.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
