1960's Ulysse Nardin Vintage Mens Handwound Crosshair Dial Watch - 18K Gold

Ulysse Nardin

Item No. 9452

Today's offering showcases this classic mens Ulysse Nardin. It has an elegantly shaped dress style case which is full size for the era and desirable crosshair dial.

Unlike many similar UN watches from the era found here in the States, which had cases made in the U.S. and from 14K gold, this is a true all Swiss UN creation and made in 18K gold.

Measuring 35mm in diameter without the crown by over 42mm long, it is in between the sizes of a Rolex Date and a Datejust.

Its elegant case with wide bezel is similar to certain Patek models from the era. Its pleasing dial has a crosshair design with arrowhead indices for the primary hours.

Powering it is its original well-made Ulysse Nardin handwound movement shock protected in two places with indirect sweep seconds.

It has just finished a true expertly done restoration. It has all of its original parts and presents in gorgeous condition.

Its case presents as just short of mint with only light signs of previous polishing and some wear to the insides of the lugs from a previously installed metal band. Its two hallmarks on the underside of lugs are both strong.

Its dial has been meticulously refinished - the printing could pass as UN factory done to the naked eye.

As part of the restoration a Master Watchmaker has overhauled the movement.

For the finishing touch we have equipped it with a brand new calfskin strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function and a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.

A classic, vintage solid 18K Ulysse Nardin watch that presents beautifully for less than 1/10 the price of a new one.

Ulysse Nardin:
Ulysse Nardin is best known by many collectors for creating chronometers, extremely accurate time keeping instruments. Their marine chronometer used by ship's captains to plot and follow the correct course while at sea. By employing sextants and chronometers, a captain could track the changes in his course over time and determine the exact location of his ship, and Nardin's marine chronometers were among the most reliable and sought after.
