1960's Vacheron & Constantin Vintage Mens Watch with Tiered Case, Cal. K1001 - 18K Gold

Vacheron & Constantin

Item No. 5923

Today's offering showcases this striking, very fine and rare Vacheron & Constantin mens dress watch.

It has a classic and elegant case with dramatic tiered design. It has a beautiful late mid-century design with understated silver dial.

As fine on the inside as the outside, the watch is powered by a very high-grade Vacheron & Constantin caliber 1001 movement adjusted to temperatures.

For those who like to to rank things, the argument is often made that the 1000 series calibers are overall the finest handwound calibers the company has ever made.

Speaking of their quality, one well-regarded writer stated: “An elegant calibre in five bridges, the sub-seconds 1001 and the center-seconds 1002 had formed the basis of Vacheron & Constantin's reputation in the 1950s and 60s. They were matched only by the peak 10 and 12 ligne handwinds of Patek Philippe…"

Its beautifully finished movement, which remains in very pleasing condition, is stamped in two places with the prestigious Poinçon de Genève.

Its parts are fully original down to the hands and winding crown.

Its 18K gold case presents very nicely. Its silver dial has just been restored by one of the leading dial experts in North America. And our its high-grade movement has just been serviced and is running very accurately

For the finishing touch we have equipped it with a brand new crocodile strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
