Today's offering showcases this uncommon oversized chronograph. Measuring 38.5mm by 44mm, it is unusually large for the era, with nearly the footprint of Rolex sports watches like Subs and GMTs.
The dial has a telemeter scale for easily calculating the distance of phenomena that can be both seen and heard, such as munitions blasts and thunderclaps and a tachometer ring that measures the speed of objects, done especially for aviation and auto racing uses.
Powering the watch is a Venus movement. For those unfamiliar with vintage chronographs, due to their complexity, in vintage times most brands, including firms like Rolex, Breitling, and Heuer, did not manufacture their own movements but rather purchased them from companies who specialized in making them.
Venus was one of the well-known chronograph movement makers of the period. Their movements are best known for powering many Breitlings from the eras, as well as watches from Gallet.
The dial is original and untouched and the luminous on it and the hands are very pleasing.
Our watchmaker has freshly cleaned and oiled the movement. It is running very accurately and the chronograph resets crisply and to a perfect zero.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
We offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee for all of our watches. If you are in any way unsatisfied with the watch we will fully refund the purchase price anytime within 7 days after the watch has been received. Our goal is to exceed our client's expectations throughout the buying experience.
