Item No. 4619
Today's offering showcases this classic and original Wakmann "Long Playing" chronograph with a contrasting dial. The retro markers give the unusual and 100% original face a very distinctive look.
This watch is in essence a so-called "poor mans" Breitling ref. 9122, as our comparative photos show. The dial, case, and movement of both are the same.
Here is a little more about it:
* Screw back water-resistant style case
* Valjoux 7733 movement
* Striking original dial with contrasting easy to read dark subdials
* Two subdials for recording of events up to 45 minutes. The subdials have a balanced feel on the dial.
* Sleek and professional style. At 37mm, the large case fits in well with the oversized look of many of today's watches.
Much ink has been spilled about the Wakmann/Charles Gigandet/Breitling connection so we won't go into detail here. The Wakmann Watch Co. was an importer of high quality brands for the the U.S. market, most notably Breitling. Certain Breitling watches were even co-branded as Wakmann-Breitling watches.
It is in fully original condition down to the dial, all hands, pushers and correctly unsigned original crown. The watch has been recently overhauled and resets crisply.
Included with the purchase is a one-year international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
We offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee for all of our watches. If you are in any way unsatisfied with the watch we will fully refund the purchase price anytime within 7 days after the watch has been received. Our goal is to exceed our client's expectations throughout the buying experience.
All watches are packaged carefully and mailed double boxed in specially constructed, reinforced shipping boxes designed for high value items. All watches are sent fully insured with signature required. Most of our domestic shipping is done through FedEx. At times we will also use USPS Express Mail, and we can accommodate most requests for your preferred carrier. International shipments are sent USPS International Express Mail or FedEx.

Also note that water resistance of vintage watches can no longer be guaranteed and is not covered under the watch's warranty. We do not recommend getting a vintage watch wet, even one that was originally designed to be waterproof.
