Today's offering showcases this classic 1961 Omega Seamaster with Omega boxes and papers.
Powering the watch is Omega's top-tier caliber 562 movement, one of the last superior 500's series movements used before Omega began trying to reduce their costs and the co-highest level offering in the 500 series. It has 24 jewels and is one of the finest mass-produced automatic movements from era.
Its gold capped case has a prominent Hypocampus seamonster emblazoned on the back.
It is fully Omega with original parts. Its case, which is in honest condition with fairly light wear, has never been polished. Its silver dial was previously restored in vintage times.
One of our watchmakers has disassembled it down to its last screw and cleaned and oiled it. It is running very strong and true, keeping extremely accurate time on par with a brand new Omega in our testing position.
Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to the watch's performance.
For the finishing touch it comes equipped with a brand new Connoisser of Time oil-tanned leather strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Accompanying the watch is an Omega box and Omega booklet with open certificate.
Omega is perhaps best known by watch connoisseurs for its Seamaster line of dive watches. Introduced in 1948, they have been embraced by water sports enthusiasts and often marry a striking look with a high performance movement.
Omega watches are worn on the wrists of Michael Schumacher, Pierce Brosnan, Michael Phelps, and Ernie Els.
