Today's offering showcases this classic and uncommonly large restored 1961 Omega Seamaster with steel mid-century style case and striking Bordeaux Wine dial.

The Ref. 14764 is one of those early Seamasters whose appeal becomes obvious the moment it is on the wrist. At roughly 36mm, it was genuinely large for its era, which is why collectors often describe it as a “Jumbo.” That extra size gives the watch a more substantial, modern presence without sacrificing the elegant proportions and clean simplicity that define early-1960s Omega design.

Its original Omega dial has been beautifully custom refinished in our Bordeaux Wine pearl, adding a rich contemporary layer to that classic design. The color moves through deep burgundy, plum, and subtle violet tones as the light catches the radial brushing, creating excellent warmth and depth without becoming overly bright. Against the polished steel markers and dauphine-style hands, the result is striking but still refined.

What makes the combination especially successful is the contrast between scale and color. The Jumbo case already gives this Seamaster more wrist presence than most of its contemporaries and a larger dial canvas, while the Bordeaux Wine dial gives it an individuality that feels fresh today. It remains unmistakably a vintage Omega, but one with enough size, color, and personality to feel completely relevant on a modern wrist.

Powering the watch is Omega's top-tier caliber 552 movement, one of the last superior 500's series movements used before Omega began trying to reduce their costs and the co-highest level offering in the 500 series. It has 24 jewels and is one of the finest mass-produced automatic movements from era.

It has all of its original parts and has just finished a true expertly done restoration. It presents in gorgeous condition - it presents as 9.7 out of 10.

Its "jumbo" case presents as mint with only light signs of previous polishing. The case was designed with wonderful subtle lug facets.

Its original Omega dial has been meticulously custom refinished in a deep bordeaux wine hue - the printing could pass as Omega factory done to the naked eye. The color is deeper and richer than our photos seem to suggest and it has just a hair more purple hue to it.

As part of the restoration, the very fine caliber 552 movement with fine swans neck regulation has been freshly expertly overhauled by a Master Watchmakers.

It is running very strong and true, keeping time more accurately than most brand new Omegas in our testing recording position.

For the finishing touch, it has been equipped with a brand new aftermarket calfskin leather strap whose stitching is in a complementary color and an aftermarket Omega style buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
