Continuing our summer of color, today's offering showcases this classic and meticulously restored c. 1961 Omega Seamaster with brilliant Kashmir blue dial. Our photos couldn't do it justice.
Vintage watches often ask us to appreciate the past. This one quietly reminds us that exceptional design never really belongs to a single era. The beautifully custom refinished Kashmir Blue dial gives the watch a fresh, modern presence while remaining entirely in harmony with Omega's timeless design.
It has our favorite Omega case style from the era - timeless allowing its classic proportions and elegant simplicity to remain the stars of the show while its Kashmire blue dial breathes new energy into the classic design, proving that timeless craftsmanship and contemporary style can coexist beautifully.
It's currently our only Kashmir blue watch.
Powering it is Omega's top-tier caliber 562 movement used in Seamasters from the era, and one of the last superior 500's series movements used before Omega began trying to reduce their costs It was the top tier offering of the 500 series. It has 24 jewels and was one of the finest mass-produced automatic movements from era.
It measures 34.5mm, which is in between the size of the Rolex Date and the Rolex Datejust.
It has just finished a true expertly done restoration. It has all of its original Omega parts and presents in gorgeous restored condition - it presents as a 9.6 out of 10.
Its case presents as mint with fairly light signs of previous polishing. Unlike most example which often have significant aging hidden inside the engine bay, this one has little.
Its original Omega dial has been meticulously custom refinished in Kashmir blue - the printing could pass as Omega factory done to the naked eye. The color is deeper and richer than our photos suggest.
As part of the restoration, the very fine caliber 562 movement with fine swans neck regulation has been overhauled by a Master Watchmaker.
It is running extremely strong and true, keeping time on par with a new Omega in our testing recording position.
For the finishing touch, it has been equipped with a dark blue new aftermarket leather strap with aftermarket Omega style buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a full-page custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
