1961 Omega Seamaster Vintage Mens Handwound Watch with Date - Stainless Steel

Item No. 6751R

Today's offering showcases this cool and uncommon vintage Seamaster De Ville mens watch. Unlike most Seamasters from the era which were automatic, this uncommon reference was powered by Omega's caliber 610 handwound movement. The thinner movement allows for a thinner case than with automatic Seamasters. All three examples that we have owned have been from 1961, perhaps the only year it was made.

It measures at approximately 34mm in diameter without the crown, the size of a Rolex Date watch and two millimeters smaller than a Rolex Datejust.

It has a monocoque - or one piece - case which insured water resistance and slim, elegant profile. The case when new achieved high water resistance ratings by not having a separate case back.

It is 100% Omega down to the dial, hands, and winding crown. It has just finished a true expertly done restoration and presents in gorgeous condition. The dial has been meticulously restored - its printing could pass as Omega factory done to the naked eye.

The case presents as mint with only slight signs of polishing. And the movement is near pristine.

Our watchmaker has just freshly disassembled the fine movement, which was originally adjusted to two positions, down to the last screw and cleaned and oiled it.

1960's and early 70's Seamasters are great long-term buys as parts are readily available for their well-made movements, and they're not hard to service.

For the finishing touch a new leather strap has been installed making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function and a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.

The Seamaster:
Omega is perhaps best known by watch connoisseurs for its Seamaster line of dive watches. Introduced in 1948, they have been were embraced by water sports enthusiasts and often marry a striking look with a high performance movement.
