1961 Omega Vintage Mens 30T2 Based Dress Watch, Large Size - 14K Rose Gold

Omega

Item No. GA3

In contrast to the larger size of many of today's high end wristwatches, most vintage era wristwatches possessed a much smaller profile compared to their counterparts today. However, in vintage times, Omega to offer a group of watches that stood out from the pack. Not only known for their size, these fine Omegas were also well-known for their accurate timekeeping.

Powering the watch is Omega's caliber 285 movement. It is in the famous 30T2 family whose reputation for reliability and accurate timekeeping landed it a role serving the critical timing needs of the world's Armed Forces during World War II. As time progressed Omega upgraded the original 30T2s with additions like a shock protection system, more jewels, and other modifications - as is the case with this watch.

This example is fully Omega and in pleasing condition. The large original 18K rose gold Omega case measures 36.5mm in diameter, slightly larger than a Rolex Datejust. The striking cross-hair dial (face) is a well done restoration, and the Omega caliber 268 movement presents very nicely and is running true.

Our watchmaker has just freshly cleaned and oiled the movement.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to its performance.
