Today's offering showcases this classic full size Seamaster 30 in meticulously restored condition. Not only is the case larger than many of the "dress Seamasters" - this one measures 35mm without the crown, in between the size of the Rolex Date and Datejust - so is its manually wound movement.
Although Omega powered the majority of their Seamasters with automatic movements, this Seamaster uses a mechanism from their robust 30 T2 based series.
The famous 30 T2 movement gained a reputation for reliability and accurate timekeeping serving the critical timing needs of the world's Armed Forces during World War II. As time progressed Omega added upgrades to the movement such as shock protection and extra jewels - as is the case with the Cal. 286 mechanism found in this watch.
Our Seamaster 30 is fully Omega down to the dial, hands, and signed winding crown. It has just finished a true expertly done restoration and presents in gorgeous condition.
Its so-called tropical or hypo-allergenic case has the look of the wrist of a solid gold Omega for a fraction of the price. It presents as mint.
Its dial has been meticulously restored - most of the printing could pass as Omega factory done even under light magnification.
Its original handwound movement has just been freshly fully serviced by a Master Watchmaker. It is clean and running strong and very true - it continues to keep near like new time in our face-up testing position.
For the finishing touch we have installed a new leather strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to the watch's performance.
Omega watches can be found on the wrists of many prominent figures including Pierce Brosnan, Michael Schumacher, Michael Phelps, Ernie Els, Prince William, and one graced the wrist of President John F. Kennedy. Omega has been the official timekeeper for 21 Olympic Games and is the official chronometer of NASA.
Omega is perhaps best known by watch connoisseurs for its Seamaster line of dive watches. Introduced in 1948, they have been embraced by water sports enthusiasts and often marry a striking look with a high performance movement.
