1963 Vintage IWC Mens Large Caliber 89 37mm Watch with Ribbon Lugs - 18K Rose Gold

IWC

Item No. 6775

The wonderful caliber 89 IWC featured in today's offering showcases what makes vintage IWC's so special.

It is larger than almost all similar dress style watches from the era. Measuring a full 37mm in diameter without the crown, it is larger than a Rolex Datejust and the same size as a Patek "King Size" ref. 2481.

Powered by one of the most highly-regarded manually wound movements ever made, talked about in the same sentence as Pateks, the watch is rich in technical details.

The movement was designed by IWC's renowned technical director Albert Pellaton and chosen by the company to power their famous Mark 11 military watches.

Housing the fine movement is its elegant 18K gold rose case with dramatic ribbon style lugs. Its large size and special lugs give it a distinctive and very pleasing style.

Our photos couldn't do it justice.

We were fortunate to acquire it with all original parts down to the dial, all hands, and winding crown and in beautiful original condition.

Its large case has crisp lines with clear hallmarks. It is just short of mint and presents on the wrist as mint.

Its original and untouched dial is better than near mint.

One of our watchmakers has disassembled it down to its last screw and cleaned and oiled it and installed a correct new genuine IWC third wheel. It is keeping very accurate time.

For the finishing touch we have equipped it with a brand new crocodile strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
