1965 Omega (Seamaster) Rare Cal. 560 Vintage Mens 10K Gold Filled & Stainless Steel Watch - Only Approx. 3000 Made

Omega

Item No. 10370

Today's offering showcases this rare, classic and pleasing automatic Omega in near new-old-stock condition. It features Omega's rare caliber 560 movement of which only 3,000 examples were made. These watches were made just for the U.S. market to avoid higher tariffs, and these 3,000 movements were split across 9 models, making each model in effect a very "limited edition."

In construction, it is a Seamaster, but this model was only very rarely branded so on the dial.

Over the years we have owned just short of 50 of the 3000 examples that were made - and this one is the nicest one to ever pass through these halls.

It was given in appreciation for 35 years of service, and it appears to have been worn little before being safely stored away for the last six decades. It presents as nearly new-old-stock.

It is all original, and its case is just short of mint with only light wear and a few pin pricks. It fully retains all of its factory applied finish. Its gold-filled top with "tropical" steel back case has the look of a solid gold Omega without the price tag.

Its untouched original silver linen textured dial is perfect mint with light natural toning of the luminous.

One of our Master Watchmakers has disassembled it down to its last screw and cleaned and oiled it and given it likely its first servicing since leaving the Omega factory. It is running extremely strong and true, keeping time on par with a new Omega in our testing recording position.

For the finishing touch, we have equipped it with a distressed leather vintage styled strap and aftermarket Omega style buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a full-page custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
