Today's offering showcases this classic and scarce Omega Seamaster Cosmic. Our photos couldn't begin to do it justice.
Its case has a distinctive retro design. The case is an unusual and uncommon Cosmic design with lugs that appear as facets of the case.
The bezel's sunburst finish reflects light different than the circular brushing on the lug tops - the juxtaposition makes for a striking presentation. Our photos couldn't do it justice.
And its dial has unusual retro indices that almost appear sideways on the non-primary hours. It has a cool monochrome look.
Its monococque - or one-piece - design originally achieved high water resistance ratings by not having a separate case back.
Powering the watch is Omega's top-tier caliber 552 movement used in Seamasters from the era, and one of the last superior 500's series movements used before Omega began trying to reduce their costs. It has 24 jewels and was one of the finest mass-produced automatic movements from era.
It measures 34mm in diameter without the crown, the same size as a Rolex Date model.
It has all of its original parts down it even its signed original Omega crystal. It has just finished a true expertly done restoration. It presents in gorgeous condition - it presents as a 9.7 out of 10.
Its case presents as just short of perfect mint with a few tiny remnants of wear to the back. It shows only the slight signs of polishing to the back.
Despite what our photos seem to suggest, all of the lightly engraved numbers are still strongly intact on the back. On the wrist it presents as gorgeous mint.
Its original Omega dial has just been meticulously restored - its printing could pass nearly as Omega factory done to the naked eye.
As part of the restoration, its movement has been freshly overhauled by a Master Watchmaker. It continues to run very strong and true, keeping time on par with a brand new Omega in our testing recording position.
Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to the watch's performance.
For the finishing touch, it has been equipped it with a brand new calfskin leather strap and aftermarket Omega style buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
