Today's offering showcases this rare, classic and pleasing automatic Omega. It features Omega's rare caliber 560 movement of which only 3,000 examples were made. These watches were made just for the U.S. market to avoid higher tariffs, and these 3,000 movements were split across 9 models, making each model in effect a very "limited edition."
It is all-original down to the dial, hands, and winding crown! It presents beautifully on the wrist. Our photos couldn't begin to do it justice.
It has an elegant silver dial that has slightly warmed giving it a true vintage look, and its gold-filled top "tropical" steel back case has the look of a solid gold Omega without the price tag.
In construction it is a Seamaster, but this model was only very rarely branded so on the dial - usually it was only branded Omega automatic as is the case with this watch.
1960's and early 70's Omega's like this one are great long-term buys as parts are readily available for their well-made movements, and they're not hard to service.
On the wrist the watch showcases only fairly light wear overall. It has light wear to the bezel, a few light scratches hidden on the underside of the lug and one small one hidden on the periphery of the case back - it presents in excellent condition on the wrist.
One of our watchmakers has disassembled it down to its last screw and cleaned and oiled it. It is keeping very accurate time.
For the finishing touch we have installed a brand new Italian calfskin strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
