Item No. 5102
Sold Out
Today's offering showcases this very cool vintage Omega mens ref. 135.011 watch. This reference is interesting in that it was branded as a Seamaster 600, as a Geneve, and double signed as a Seamaster 600 Geneve. Most were sold under the Seamaster 600 moniker - Geneve examples are seen much less often, and the rarest are the double signed versions.
This is a Geneve branded example, and it is identical in general construction to the Seamaster 600 signed version except for the dial signature and the lack of the Seamaster engraved into the case back. (We have included a photo in the listing of a double signed Seamaster 600/Geneve model)
The 600 series was named because of the movement that powers the watch. Besides being hand-wound, a less common trait for a Seamaster, the Seamaster 600 also features a slightly thinner case than automatic Seamasters.
It measures just under 35mm in diameter without the crown, about one millimeter smaller than a Rolex Datejust.
It has been restored and presents in beautiful condition.
The watch is fully Omega down to the dial, hands, and winding crown. As part of the restoration the movement, which is adjusted to two positions, has been freshly fully serviced by a Master Watchmaker. It is quite pristine and is running true.
For the finishing touch we have installed a new leather strap.
Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to the watch's performance.
The Seamaster:
Omega is perhaps best known by watch connoisseurs for its Seamaster line of dive watches. Introduced in 1948, they have been were embraced by water sports enthusiasts and often marry a striking look with a high performance movement.
