1967 Omega Seamaster De Ville Vintage Mens Rare Cal. 560 Watch, Automatic, Date - Stainless Steel

Omega

Item No. 6579

The Seamaster De Ville, showcasing both refinement and high function, was the most important Omega line from a sales perspective from the latter part of the 1960's into the 1970's. It has a monocoque - or one piece - case which insured water resistance and slim, elegant profile. The case when new achieved high water resistance ratings by not having a separate case back.

Today's offering showcases this rare, classic and pleasing Seamaster De Ville with rare caliber 560 movement of which only 3,000 examples were made. These movements were split across nine models, making each in effect a "limited edition." The 560 was a movement made only for the U.S. market to cut down on import tariffs.

This pleasing example is fully Omega down to the dial, hands, crown, and even Omega crystal!

Its case is in excellent condition with fairly light wear and does not appear to have ever been polished. Its dial is honest and untouched.

'60's and early 70's Seamasters are great long-term buys as parts are readily available for their well-made movements, and they're not hard to service.

One of our watchmakers has disassembled the movement down to the last screw and cleaned and oiled it and installed a new Omega crystal and new Omega crown. It winds very smoothly and is keeping incredibly accurate time. For the finishing touch we have installed a leather strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.

Note: Published examples of similar watches can be found in Marco Richon's work Omega: A Journey Through Time, 2007, pg. 403.
