Today's offering showcases this gorgeously restored example of an uncommon tonneau Constellation. It is fully Omega and has just finished a true expertly done restoration. It presents as about a 9.7 or 9.8 out of 10.
Tonneau Constellations are one of the few that have a more rectangular dress watch appearance.
Powering the watch is Omega's officially certified chronometer caliber 712 movement, the thinnest automatic chronometer movement ever made by the company and worked into a chronometer that's adjusted to five positions and for temperature.
The 700 series has a direct lineage to the celebrated 500 series, and is arguably as good, and collectors are beginning to recognize it accordingly. It was the last very fine movement series of its kind before Omega began to make budget cuts because of the quartz revolution.
It has all of its original parts. The only part that has been changed is a new mineral glass crystal has been installed. The case presents as mint. The dial has been meticulously restored - the printing could pass as Omega factory done to the naked eye.
The dial is a beautiful rich royal blue. Our photos couldn't begin to do it justice!
The movement has been freshly fully overhauled by a Master Watchmaker - it is keeping very accurate time.
For the finishing touch we have installed a new calfskin band making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
A more than five decade old Omega that presents like new!
